Registered Psychologist
My name is Tyler Chaisson and I am a registered psychologist. I am originally from Prince Edward Island and made the trek across Canada in 2007 to start my teaching career. In 2020, I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
I use an integrative approach to counselling and I am informed by a number of orientations including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitizing Reprocessing (EMDR), and Person-centered (Rogerian) therapy. Some areas of focus include anxiety, depression, stress, anger management, self-esteem, and other mental health issues.
I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment to help instill hope and empowerment in clients. I encourage clients to guide the sessions and work on collaboratively designed goals, all while integrating their strengths.

Registered Psychologist
Originally from Newfoundland, Fort McMurray has been my home since 2001. Living away from family can be a challenge so outdoor activity helps to keep me balanced. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing and skiing are my favourite outdoor hobbies, in addition to enjoying relaxation around a backyard campfire. Travelling, reading and crafts are my occasional enjoyments.
Currently a Registered Psychologist, I studied at Memorial University (Newfoundland) and University of Calgary. While counselling services is a fairly new role for me, I am excited to work with the team at Mannell Consulting to support this area of need in our community. With many years of experience in the field of education in roles such as a teacher, Education and Behaviour Consultant, and Provisional Psychologist (assessment), my vast experiences in working with children and families will provide a strong foundation in understanding and supporting others on their mental health journey.
I am excited to work collaboratively with individuals, couples and families in a relaxed, person-centered, non-judgemental environment. Modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy will guide you on your journey to better understand your personal strengths, and to foster courage and hope in taking those first steps in restoring and/or achieving positive mental health.
